Youth and Family Ministry

Unity Church of Knoxville's Youth and Family Ministry has loving and dedicated volunteers who share the Unity message with those whose spiritual journey is in the process of beginning. Our youth are involved in a variety of activities including creativity projects, storytelling, fundraising, and leadership opportunities. We support each child in their own spiritual growth as well as creating a community where they can share their growth with others their own age.

Our vision for the Youth and Family Ministry is to become a large youth ministry with dedicated teachers and children. Here are the age groups we minister to:

Nursery: (6 weeks - 2 years)

The nursery provides a loving environment in which our youngest members enjoy their first Unity experience.

Unitots: (ages 3-6)

The Unitots delight in stories and activities, guided by loving teachers that present the Unity message at their level.
The Unitots are currently working with the curriculum "What a Wonderful World" in which they get to have meaningful interactions with each other, their teachers, and Co-Co the Wonder Bear (a puppet that goes along with what they are learning).

Unistars: (ages 7-10)

	The Unistars share in a story time and a time for creative expression that compliments their morning lesson.
The Unistars are currently working with the curriculum "Celebrating My God-self." These books are focused on love, prayer, compassion, service, and other God-centered topics.

Uniteens: (ages 11-13)

Uniteens participate in lessons, songs, stories and activities that promote Truth Principles as they relate to this unique age group.	Our Uniteens belong to the Southeast Region and attend the Uniteens Spring Fling and other retreats for Uniteens in our region. The current curriculum for the Uniteens includes the four books in "Uniteen: Life Series." These books cover self-image, relationships, fair play, and choices/consequences.

Youth of Unity (YOU): (ages 14-18)

The Knoxville YOU belongs to the Southeast Region and attends Regional Leadership, Fall Retreat, Spring Rally, and Summer Connection. We send delegates from the YOU to a yearly international conference, which is usually held in Missouri, with other YOUers from around the world.

Our YOU program encourages individual spiritual growth through practicing Unity Principles and the 12 Powers as well as heart talks, group discussions, fundraisers, and hands on leadership by YOU members. More than once YOUers have lead the church service or been involved in the service by sharing their talents as well as being ushers in the morning service on fifth Sunday months. But leadership opportunities don't stop at the home church. YOUers have opportunities to lead the Southeast Region by becoming Regional Representatives. They can even further develop their leadership skills by becoming International Representatives.
