Meet Our Minister

Our minister - Lora Beth Gilbreath

Rev. Lora Beth Gilbreath came to Unity Church of Knoxville in December 2004. Her ministry reflects a passion for prayer, adult education, and youth education. She is committed to transforming lives with Unity principles, and empowering individuals to give their gifts in service to the church and to their community. Her personal vision is to create a ministry centered in the teachings of Jesus Christ and Unity principles, as well as to express Christ in ways that have a positive impact on the local and global communities.

Lora Beth was ordained as a Unity minister in June 2003. Lora Beth spent most of her life in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where she served Christ Unity Church as spiritual leader and Licensed Unity Teacher before ministerial school. She taught for 26 years at St. Nicholas School, an independent Episcopal school in Chattanooga.

While she lived in Kansas City during ministerial school, she served on the staff of Unity Church of Overland Park in Overland Park, Kansas, as Prayer Ministry Director and as assistant in Youth and Family Ministry. She lived six years in Knoxville in the 1970's where she received her undergraduate and graduate degrees in French from the University of Tennessee. She and her husband Ken are delighted to be back in Tennessee close to their families. Things that Lora Beth and Ken love to do are hiking, playing games, going to movies and concerts, and reading.
